Information

This very rare and early easy chair was designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen and produced by the respected Danish cabinetmaker Christensen & Larsen in 1950. The chair features a teak frame characterized by elegant, sculptural lines that demonstrate Kofod-Larsen’s skillful wood shaping. The frame adopts a slightly tilted stance that enhances both comfort and aesthetic appeal. The seat and backrest have been newly reupholstered in a vibrant yellow wool fabric, which complements the warm tones of the teak and accentuates the chair’s organic, mid-century form.

Reflecting Scandinavian modern principles, the design emphasizes minimalist construction, functional intent, and meticulous craftsmanship. The angular back legs and gently sloping armrests provide structural balance while preserving a light and airy visual presence.

As an early production model from Christensen & Larsen, this chair exemplifies high craftsmanship, featuring precise joinery and finely detailed woodworking.

The chair measures 62 centimeters in width, 68 centimeters in depth, and 77 centimeters in height (24.4 x 26.8 x 30.3 inches), with a seat height of 39 centimeters (15.4 inches).
