Ib Kofod-Larsen easy chair

The rare high-backed easy chair model Sälen, designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen and produced by OPE Möbler in Sweden, is a refined and sculptural embodiment of Scandinavian modernism. Designed during the mid-20th century, this chair reflects Kofod-Larsen’s hallmark sensitivity to material, comfort, and proportion—an approach that helped define the Danish and Swedish contributions to modern furniture design.

With dimensions of 80 cm wide, 88 cm deep, 92 cm high, and a seat height of 40 cm (31.5 x 34.6 x 36.2 inches; seat height 15.7 inches), the Sälen chair is generously proportioned yet refined in presence—suitable for both lounge settings and formal interior arrangements.

Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921–2003) was one of the leading figures in Scandinavian modern design, renowned for his work with wood and his ability to create graceful, human-centered furniture.
