Josef Frank trolley
This rare trolley, model 470, was designed by Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in Sweden during the 1950s. The piece exemplifies Frank’s refined approach to functional furniture, blending organic materials with elegant detailing. The frame is constructed from mahogany, showcasing a warm, natural tone that accentuates the wood’s grain and texture.
The trolley’s top surface is fitted with mirrored glass, creating a striking contrast with the organic warmth of the mahogany and adding a touch of sophistication. The lower shelf extends slightly beyond the frame, introducing an asymmetrical element that enhances the design’s visual interest without sacrificing utility. The trolley is mounted on four brass casters, which provide smooth mobility while contributing to the piece’s refined aesthetic.
The trolley is in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting only minor wear consistent with careful use over time, preserving its original charm and functionality.
