Lisa Johansson-Pape floor lamp

This floor lamp was designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and produced by Orno in Finland during the 1940s, representing an early example of Scandinavian mid-century lighting design. The lamp combines brass, leather, and fabric materials, showcasing Johansson-Pape’s dedication to blending functionalism with elegant craftsmanship. Its construction reflects the period’s emphasis on natural materials and practical yet refined form.

The lamp’s base is a round, weighted brass disk that ensures stability. From this base rises a flexible stem wrapped in leather, providing both durability and a tactile, organic quality. The upper section transitions into a curved brass arm designed to allow directional lighting, enhancing the lamp’s usability. The original pleated linen shade, featuring a flared top and wider bottom, gently diffuses light to create a warm and inviting ambiance.
