Information

Table lamp model no. 06-017 was designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape in 1954 and produced by Oy Stockmann-Ornö AB in collaboration with Iittala at their Kerava glassworks in Finland. The piece is a notable example of Finnish mid-century lighting design, distinguished by its refined material choices and sculptural clarity.

The lamp’s base is crafted from opaque white glass, blown into a trumpet-like form that flares outward and gradually narrows into a cylindrical neck. This glass component, produced by Iittala, balances visual lightness with physical stability. At the junction between the glass base and the shade, a cylindrical copper sleeve houses the electrical fittings. The copper retains its original warm reddish tone, accented by areas of surface oxidation and patina consistent with its age. The shade is made of pleated fabric in a pale grey-blue color, shaped into a wide conical profile that complements the base and diffuses light softly and evenly.

The lamp’s switch is a brass-tipped toggle mounted on the copper cylinder, integrating functionality with subtle detailing. The combination of translucent glass, reflective metal, and textile creates a layered lighting effect that is both practical and atmospheric.

The dimensions are 45 cm in diameter (approximately 17.7 inches) and 69 cm in height (27.2 inches).

Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907–1989) was a prominent Finnish lighting designer known for her work with Stockmann-Ornö and Iittala, as well as for lighting designs in churches and public spaces. Her approach balanced human-centric lighting with architectural sensibility, using glass and metal expressively. This lamp is representative of her mid-century style, combining functionality with refined aesthetics.

The lamp is in good vintage condition, showing patinated metal and minor wear on the shade.
