Information

Very rare table lamp model 40-013, known as “Lady” designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and produced by Stockmann-Orno in Finland in 1954. One of Johansson-Pape’s most sculptural and refined post-war designs, the model exemplifies the designer’s mastery of proportion, materiality, and light. The elegant silhouette combines a tapered blown-glass body with subtle brass detailing, creating a composition that feels both delicate and architectural.

The lamp features a striking two-tone glass construction, with a rich cobalt-blue cone seemingly suspended within a clear glass outer form. This layered effect creates remarkable depth and visual movement, enhanced by the way light interacts with the transparent surfaces. A polished brass neck provides a warm transition between the glass base and the shade, introducing a luxurious accent that complements the cool tones of the glass.

Retaining its original lampshade, the lamp displays an exceptionally cohesive appearance. The shade is covered in a finely textured natural material that diffuses the light beautifully, producing a warm and atmospheric glow. When illuminated, the subtle organic texture of the shade becomes visible, creating a soft ambient light characteristic of Johansson-Pape’s lighting designs, which were conceived to provide visual comfort while maintaining a strong decorative presence.

Lisa Johansson-Pape is regarded as one of Finland’s most influential lighting designers, celebrated for her ability to combine technical precision with timeless elegance. Produced by Stockmann-Orno, one of the leading Finnish lighting manufacturers of the period, the Lady model remains among her rarer and most sought-after table lamps. Its sculptural glass form and sophisticated material palette place it firmly within the golden era of Scandinavian modern design.

The lamp remains in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. The glass is well preserved with light wear consistent with age, the brass retains a pleasing patina, and the original lampshade shows minor age-related wear while remaining structurally sound and highly decorative.

Dimensions: 36 cm diameter × 70 cm height (14.2 × 27.6 inches).
