Paavo Tynell ceiling lamp

This rare and large ceiling lamp, designed by Paavo Tynell and produced by Taito Oy in Finland during the 1950s, is a prime example of mid-century Nordic lighting design, combining elegant craftsmanship with functional innovation.

Constructed from brass, lacquered metal, and glass, the lamp features a domed metal shade finished in soft yellow lacquer. The shade is perforated with delicate decorative holes, which create a star-like pattern of light when illuminated, adding an atmospheric and artistic quality to any room. The brass frame at the base of the shade supports a frosted glass diffuser, which evenly softens the light for a warm, ambient glow.
