Poul Henningsen table lamp
This rare and early table lamp, model PH-2/2 ‘Vintergækken’, was designed by Poul Henningsen in the 1930s and produced by Louis Poulsen in Denmark. Stamped “Patented”, it features its original amber glass shades in Henningsen’s three-shade system, designed to provide even, glare-free light. The warm-toned glass is paired with a nickel-plated brass base, showing patina and light wear consistent with age.
Henningsen, a leading figure in Scandinavian lighting design, developed the PH series through his long collaboration with Louis Poulsen, blending technical precision with modernist aesthetics. Louis Poulsen, established in 1874, became a major force in international lighting design, with the PH lamps among their most celebrated works.
This example is in good vintage condition, with a soft patina on the metal and minor age-related marks on the glass. It is a fine representation of early Scandinavian modern lighting.
