Rare pair of wall-mounted clothes hangers designed by Danish designer Roald Steen Hansen and produced by World Pictures, Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1974. Executed in steam-bent solid beechwood with a natural clear finish, the design consists of a sculptural hanger suspended from a cylindrical wall-mounted support. The flowing, continuous curves and precisely bent wooden profile demonstrate the advanced woodworking techniques associated with Danish craftsmanship during the 1970s, combining functional engineering with an elegant organic form. The warm honey-toned beech displays a fine, straight grain that enhances the minimalist character of the design.

Roald Steen Hansen (b. 1942) is a Danish furniture and industrial designer educated at the School of Applied Arts and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he later also taught. His work is characterized by an emphasis on material honesty, refined proportions, and the integration of function with sculptural expression. Designed in 1974, this clothes hanger has become one of his most recognized works and remains an icon of Danish industrial design. The design is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, recognizing its significance as an outstanding example of late twentieth-century functional design.
