Information

Rare freestanding desk designed by Severin Hansen, produced by Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in Denmark during the 1950s. Executed in rosewood, the desk displays the refined craftsmanship and precise geometric detailing that characterize Hansen’s work and the Danish modern movement of the mid-century period.

The tabletop features striking rosewood grain with vivid tonal variation, ranging from deep brown to golden hues. The veneered surfaces are meticulously matched across the top and sides, emphasizing continuity and balance. The four tapered legs are seamlessly integrated with the frame through sharply mitered joints—an iconic structural and aesthetic element found in Hansen’s designs.

The front section is fitted with three drawers, each with a recessed brass keyhole and minimalist proportions, maintaining the desk’s clean, uninterrupted silhouette. The construction and joinery are of exceptional quality, with fine attention to detail typical of Haslev’s workshop.

The piece is presented in excellent vintage condition, fully restored and showing only minimal signs of age and use. The surface retains a rich patina, highlighting the depth and figure of the rosewood.

Dimensions: width 143 cm (56.3 in), depth 75 cm (29.5 in), height 73 cm (28.7 in).
