Information

This sculptural ceramic vase, model Veckla, was designed by Swedish designer Stig Lindberg and produced by Gustavsberg in Sweden. Lindberg, one of Scandinavia’s most influential mid-century ceramicists and designers, is celebrated for his organic forms and playful yet refined approach to modern design. His works for Gustavsberg, where he served as artistic director, represent some of the most iconic examples of Scandinavian ceramic art from the 20th century.

The Veckla vase is characterised by its softly flowing, asymmetrical silhouette and sculpted organic shape. The surface is matte white, enhancing the subtle curves and giving the piece a timeless and minimalist appearance. Its fluid form reflects Lindberg’s interest in biomorphic design and the Scandinavian modernist emphasis on natural shapes and simplicity. The restrained colour and delicate contours make the vase equally suitable as a standalone sculptural object or as a vessel for flowers.

Produced during the mid-century period, this piece reflects the craftsmanship and innovative ceramic techniques of Gustavsberg, one of Sweden’s leading porcelain manufacturers. It remains a sought-after collectible for its artistic quality and historical significance.

The vase is in good vintage condition with small signs of usage consistent with age.

Dimensions are 20.5 cm wide, 10 cm deep, and 18.5 cm high (8.1 x 3.9 x 7.3 in)
