Table lamp
This rare table lamp was produced in Norway during the 1950s. It exemplifies mid-century Scandinavian modern design through its sculptural silhouette and combination of brass and lacquered metal materials. The base consists of a brass structure supported by three legs, each terminating in rounded brass feet, contributing to the lamp’s balanced and stable form.
The original cream-colored lacquered metal shade is shaped as a double cone with a narrow central band, creating a distinctive geometric profile. Along the lower edge, small star-shaped perforations allow diffused light to escape, adding a decorative and atmospheric element when the lamp is illuminated. The shade’s angle can be adjusted via a brass pivoting mechanism, providing directional lighting functionality.
The brass components have developed a natural patina consistent with age, exhibiting areas of oxidation and surface wear. The lacquered metal shows minor marks, reflecting its original mid-century finish and careful preservation over time.
The lamp measures approximately 12.5 cm in width, 32 cm in depth, and 36 cm in height (4.9 x 12.6 x 14.2 inches).
