Maison Siegel table mirror

This rare table mirror was produced by Maison Siegel in France during the 1940s, designed by an unknown designer. The mirror is crafted from nickel-plated brass, reflecting the geometric character and material refinement typical of late Art Deco design. The structure features a distinctive octagonal mirror plate with bevelled edges, supported by an articulated metal frame that allows for tilt adjustment. A knurled metal knob on the side enables easy control of the mirror’s angle, highlighting both functionality and mechanical precision.

The supporting column is cylindrical and rises from a two-tiered base made of a circular plinth mounted on a square platform, all in nickel-plated brass. The surface of the mirror shows signs of oxidation and wear, particularly on the base and moving parts, with visible patina and some darkening that attest to the mirror’s age and original finish. The back of the mirror is covered with a black panel, providing a visual contrast and grounding the piece in its design.
