Uno & Östen Kristiansson stool
This stool was designed by Swedish designers Uno & Östen Kristiansson and produced by Luxus in Vittsjö during the 1950s. The design reflects the straightforward material approach associated with Scandinavian modern furniture of the period.
The stool is constructed in teak, with four slender rectangular legs connected by intersecting stretchers that give the base a simple geometric structure. The warm tone and visible grain of the teak contrast with the black leather seat.
The circular seat is upholstered in black leather and has a softly rounded profile. Its simple form sits lightly above the linear wooden frame, creating a clear contrast between the curved seat and angular construction below.
The stool remains in good vintage condition, with small signs of usage consistent with its age.
A characteristic example of Swedish mid-century design, the piece combines natural materials, functional construction and restrained detailing.
