Severin Hansen coffee table

This rare coffee table was designed by Severin Hansen in the 1950s and produced by Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in Denmark. The piece is executed in rosewood, displaying a rich reddish-brown tone with a striking, expressive grain pattern characteristic of the species. The round tabletop is finely veneered, with the grain radiating across the surface, and framed by a discreetly profiled edge. The table rests on Hansen’s signature tapered legs, meeting the apron in precisely mitered joints—a detail that has become a hallmark of his work, emphasizing both craftsmanship and visual lightness.

The condition is good vintage, with a well-preserved surface showing signs of age and use in the form of a soft patina and minor marks consistent with decades of careful ownership.
