Hans-Agne Jakobsson ceiling lamps
This ceiling lamp, model T-598, was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden, during the 1960s. Constructed from polished brass, the lamp features a flared, trumpet-shaped shade with a series of perforations near the top, allowing for both direct and ambient light diffusion. The lower section is fitted with a spiral-patterned brass diffuser that softens the emitted light, casting a warm, golden glow.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish lighting designer celebrated for his innovative use of perforated metal and brass to create atmospheric lighting effects. His designs emphasize indirect illumination and reflective surfaces, combining functional lighting with sculptural aesthetics.
The brass surface has developed a natural patina over time, enhancing the warmth and depth of the finish. The lamp remains in good condition, with the perforated details and spiral diffuser intact.
The lamp measures 28 cm (11 inches) in diameter and 28 cm (11 inches) in height.
