Möllers Armatur table lamp

This rare table lamp, model MAE 4426, was produced by Möllers Armaturfabrik in Eskilstuna, Sweden, during the 1960s. The lamp features a wide, domed brass shade with a brushed surface finish that provides a soft reflective quality. The stem is wrapped in brown leather, accented by an integrated spiral brass detail that offers both tactile and visual contrast to the smooth metallic elements. The circular brass base is low-profile and polished, maintaining cohesion with the upper brass components.

The lamp is equipped with two downward-facing sockets, each controlled by individual pull cords, housed within a symmetrical brass structure beneath the shade. The interior of the shade is painted white to enhance light diffusion, contributing to an even and functional illumination. Wiring and mechanical parts are discreetly integrated, preserving the lamp’s streamlined and uncluttered appearance. The top finial serves a practical purpose, securing the shade in place.

Möllers Armaturfabrik was a Swedish lighting manufacturer active in the mid-20th century, known for producing high-quality fixtures often in collaboration with various designers, although the specific designer of this model remains unknown. Their production from the 1950s and 1960s reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and functional modernism characteristic of Scandinavian design during this era.
