Erik Buck bar stools
This set of three bar stools was designed by Erik Buck and produced by Dyrlund in Denmark during the 1960s. The design is an elegant example of Danish mid-century craftsmanship, uniting sculptural form with practical comfort.
Each stool is constructed in rosewood, a material valued for its deep reddish-brown tone and expressive grain pattern. The legs taper subtly, giving the piece a light and refined profile, while the horizontal stretchers provide strength and stability. The joinery is precise and demonstrates the quality of Dyrlund’s cabinetmaking tradition.
The curved backrest, a hallmark of Buck’s designs, is made from a single piece of bent rosewood that transitions fluidly into a central support. This sculpted form provides ergonomic support and visual balance. The seat is upholstered in black imitation leather, shaped to offer comfort and contrast to the rich wood surface.
The stools retain their original finish and upholstery and remain in excellent vintage condition with minor signs of use consistent with age. The natural patina enhances the rosewood’s depth and character.
