This is a geometric relief titled Komposition XVII, created in 1966 by Swedish architect and artist Erik Chambert. The composition is constructed from painted black paper, arranged in a series of sharp, intersecting planes and volumetric shapes. These angular forms emerge from a black ground, contrasted by thin, white, hand-drawn linear elements that traverse the surface and introduce a dynamic spatial rhythm. The relief is housed in a transparent plexiglass box, preserving its delicate three-dimensional construction and enhancing its object-like presence.

The artwork measures 32 x 32 x 7 cm. The back of the piece is inscribed with the artist’s name, title, and year, and the front lower edge is signed “ERIK CHAMBERT 1966.”

The condition is good, with signs of age consistent with careful preservation. This piece reflects Chambert’s mid-century shift from functional design to constructivist and concretist artistic expression, influenced by his interest in architectural geometry and Scandinavian modernism.
