Information

This rare pair of ceiling lamps, model T-434/15, was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden, during the 1950s. Each lamp is constructed in brass with its original light blue cylindrical glass shades, arranged in a symmetrical fifteen-light configuration that highlights Jakobsson’s ability to balance modernist geometry with atmospheric light diffusion.

The brass structure has developed a warm patina consistent with age, lending the lamps additional character. The light blue glass shades are slightly tinted and provide a subtle filtering of the light, producing a soft and evenly distributed glow. The lamps are designed with a central stem from which fifteen arms extend in two tiers, giving a sculptural presence that is both functional and decorative.

These pieces represent the essence of mid-century Scandinavian lighting design, where functionality, craftsmanship, and form are combined. Jakobsson’s work is celebrated for its atmospheric qualities, and this model is a fine example of his approach to chandelier design.
