Mats Theselius (1956 - )
Mats Anders Birger Theselius, originally Andersson, born January 5, 1956 in Stockholm, is a Swedish furniture designer. He is the son of the artist Pär Andersson and Astrid Theselius Andersson.

Mats Theselius trained in interior architecture at Konstfack in Stockholm 1979–84. In the years 1995–96 he was a professor at the University of Design and Crafts at the University of Gothenburg. He made his debut in 1985 with the Mooseskin armchair, a cylinder-shaped armchair made of sheet iron and moose skin. Other products are the bookcase from 1988/90 which holds 25 years of the National Geographic magazine lacquered in the magazine's yellow cover colour, the armchair Rex 1994, El Rey 1999 and Ambassad 1999 for the Swedish Embassy in Berlin.

Mats Theselius received the Bruno Mathsson prize in 1997. He was elected to the Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. In 2018 he received the Prince Eugen medal for outstanding artistic achievement.
