Dining chairs
Rare set of six dining chairs produced in Denmark during the 1950s. These chairs are exemplary of mid-century Scandinavian craftsmanship, combining elegant organic forms with refined material contrasts.
The frames are constructed in solid oak, shaped with softly rounded edges and tapered legs that emphasize the natural grain of the wood. The sculptural backrests are executed in teak, carefully curved to provide ergonomic support and to highlight the expressive pattern of the veneer. The seats have been newly reupholstered in blue wool fabric, adding a rich color accent to the natural tones of the wood.
The design reflects the Scandinavian modernist ethos of the period—functional yet sensuous, emphasizing simplicity, comfort, and craftsmanship. The subtle joinery details and interplay of teak and oak demonstrate the attention to proportion and material harmony typical of 1950s Danish furniture.
The set remains in good vintage condition with small signs of age and use consistent with careful preservation.
