Side tables

Information

This set of three side tables was produced by Slutarp Möbelindustri in Sweden during the 1960s. Crafted from rosewood, the tables exhibit the wood’s deep, rich color and intricate grain patterns. The set includes one larger table and two smaller nesting tables designed to slide neatly beneath the larger one, allowing for efficient use of space.

The design reflects the mid-century Scandinavian aesthetic, emphasizing clean lines, functional forms, and meticulous detailing. Each tabletop features slightly raised and sculpted edges, providing a subtle framing effect that enhances the set’s refined appearance. The tables stand on tapered legs, a hallmark of Scandinavian design, which lends them a lightweight yet sturdy presence.

The largest table measures 79.5 centimeters in width and depth, with a height of 48.5 centimeters (31.3 x 31.3 x 19.1 inches). The two smaller nesting tables measure 65 centimeters in width, 40 centimeters in depth, and 43 centimeters in height (25.6 x 15.7 x 16.9 inches).

These tables show a patina consistent with their age, along with minor signs of wear that reflect their use, adding to their vintage character.
