Hans-Agne Jakobsson floor lamp

This is a very rare floor lamp, model G-110, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by his own company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden during the 1950s. The lamp is composed of a vertically oriented brass structure and a silk fringe shade, characteristic of Jakobsson’s distinctive approach to lighting design, where material delicacy meets architectural form.

The lamp’s base is formed from a weighted brass disc, supporting a slender, polished brass rod that rises to meet the central body of the shade. The light source is shielded by cascading layers of cream-colored silk fringes arranged in concentric tiers. These fringes are mounted to a circular brass frame, diffusing the light evenly and softly while creating a warm, ambient glow.
