Hans-Agne Jakobsson ceiling lamps
Pair of ceiling lamps model T-605, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd, Sweden, 1965. These lamps exemplify Jakobsson’s exploration of light diffusion through textile materials, characteristic of his mid-century Scandinavian lighting designs.
Each lamp features a cylindrical brass frame supporting layers of cascading silk fringes in a soft pink tone. The multi-tiered structure allows the light to filter gently through the textile, creating a warm, ambient glow. The brass provides a reflective contrast to the matte texture of the silk, giving the lamps both decorative and atmospheric presence.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919–2009) developed a signature approach to lighting design that emphasized indirect illumination and sensory warmth. His lamps often transformed simple materials into sculptural light objects, merging craftsmanship with modern functionalism.
Both examples are in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and usage. The fringes retain their structure and tone, and the brass elements show a consistent patina.
