Information

This is a rare dining table, model 212, designed by Arne Vodder and produced by Sibast Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1950s. A striking example of Scandinavian mid-century design, the table embodies Vodder’s refined sensibility and Sibast’s exceptional cabinetmaking tradition.

The table is constructed from solid teak and teak veneer with a rich, even grain and warm reddish-brown hue. The tabletop has an elongated oval form with softly rounded ends, lending it an elegant presence. The tabletop expands via a central extension mechanism and includes an additional leaf, extending the length from 198 cm (78 in) to 298 cm (117.3 in), allowing flexible seating capacity for gatherings.

The design features a subtly sculpted top edge and rounded corners, which harmonize beautifully with the tapering cylindrical legs. The leg structure is stabilized by angular stretchers that echo the architectural clarity of Vodder’s work. The table showcases the attention to proportion and material integrity that defined Danish modernism.

This piece is in good vintage condition, fully restored, with only minor signs of age and use. The restoration has preserved the table’s original patina while ensuring a high standard of structural and aesthetic quality.
