Bent Karlby ceiling lamp

This ceiling lamp, model Peanut, was designed by Bent Karlby in 1946 and produced by Lyfa in Denmark. The lamp features a shade made of opaline glass, characterized by a softly diffused, milky-white finish that offers a warm and even light distribution when illuminated. The glass shade is shaped in an organic, bulbous form resembling a peanut, with rounded, layered volumes that create a dynamic and sculptural silhouette. The design is complemented by brass elements, including a conical ceiling canopy and a detailed brass ring with perforated openings at the bottom of the shade, adding functional ventilation and a decorative accent.

The lamp is suspended by a twisted fabric cord, leading to the inverted conical ceiling canopy.
