Boris Lacroix table lamps

This rare pair of table or wall lamps was designed by Boris Lacroix and produced by Falkenbergs Belysning in Sweden. The design showcases a distinctive blend of French modernist aesthetics with Scandinavian functionalism, resulting in a versatile and refined lighting object from the mid-20th century.

Constructed entirely in brass, the lamps exhibit a polished golden finish that reflects ambient light with a soft, metallic warmth. The surface has developed a light patina over time, consistent with age and use, adding character without compromising the underlying luster. The shades are conical in form and are perforated with small, star-shaped cutouts along their edges. These perforations serve both a decorative and practical purpose, casting subtle patterns of light when the lamps are in use and providing visual relief to the otherwise minimal form.

The design incorporates an adjustable brass arm, allowing the user to position the light according to need, whether mounted on a wall or placed on a surface. A circular ring integrated into the top of the lamp enables straightforward wall attachment. The condition of the lamps is very good, with minor surface wear and signs of patina that are consistent with their age. The brass surfaces remain bright, and all mechanical components function as intended.
