Candlesticks

This pair of candlesticks was produced by Ekbergs Malm in Sweden during the 1960s and exemplifies mid-century Scandinavian modern metalwork. Cast in brass, the candlesticks exhibit a warm patina that enhances their sculptural presence. The design features a dynamic arched base supporting a shallow circular dish with a central spike for securing candles. The elevated stance and gracefully curved legs create a sense of movement, reinforcing the organic and modernist aesthetic characteristic of the period.

The candlesticks are in good vintage condition, showing visible signs of age and oxidation on the brass surfaces, which contribute to their authentic character. The original manufacturer’s mark is present on the underside, confirming their provenance.

Measuring 11 cm in width, 8 cm in depth, and 7.5 cm in height (4.3 by 3.15 by 2.95 inches), these candlesticks represent a refined example of Swedish mid-century metal craftsmanship.
