Ceiling lamps
This rare pair of ceiling lamps was produced in Sweden during the 1950s. The lamps are constructed from solid brass with frosted glass diffusers and feature ten internal light sources arranged in a circular configuration. Each lamp has a sculptural, hexagonal form composed of two opposing tapered sections that create a cross-like silhouette, an architectural design characteristic of Swedish modern lighting from the mid-twentieth century.
The brass surfaces exhibit a naturally aged patina with warm tonal variations, enhancing the material’s depth and character. Small perforated cross motifs are distributed evenly across the exterior panels, allowing subtle points of light to escape and creating a refined decorative effect. The frosted glass diffusers soften the illumination, producing an even, ambient glow both upward and downward. The design achieves a balance between functional clarity and sculptural presence, suitable for both domestic and public interiors.
Each fixture is fitted with ten bulb sockets concealed within the central brass housing. The lamps retain their original structure and are in good vintage condition with surface marks, minor scratches, and oxidation consistent with age and use.
Dimensions are 45 cm in diameter and 155 cm high (17.7 x 61 in).
