Elis Borg sculpture
The sculpture titled Form 3 was designed by Swedish architect and designer Elis Borg and produced in Sweden in 1978. Crafted from steel, the piece exemplifies a stark brutalist aesthetic, characterized by sharply tapering, angular planes arranged in a dynamic and asymmetric composition. The sculpture is supported by a cylindrical steel base, grounding the form while allowing the angular elements to project spatial tension and movement.
The surface bears signs of oxidation and visible working marks, which accentuate the raw, architectural qualities inherent to the brutalist style and the fabrication process. This work belongs to a series of experimental forms by Borg that investigate spatial rhythm, balance, and the interplay between negative space and mass.
The sculpture is in very good condition, featuring an even surface patina consistent with age and material. There are no structural damages present. The dimensions measure 33 cm in diameter and 62.5 cm in height (approximately 13 by 24.6 inches).
