Halvdan Pettersson bedside tables
This rare pair of bedside or side tables was designed by Halvdan Pettersson and produced by Tibro Möbelfabrik in Sweden during the 1950s. The tables exhibit a refined mid-century Scandinavian aesthetic, combining warm mahogany, brass accents, and cream-colored artificial leather.
The circular tabletops are crafted from mahogany, showcasing a rich, warm tone and featuring a raised brass rim on one side that adds a subtle decorative element. The bodies of the tables are wrapped in cream-colored artificial leather, highlighted by decorative brass nailhead trim that emphasizes the craftsmanship. Each table includes two small drawers integrated seamlessly into the design, fitted with brass drop handles that contribute both function and elegance.
Supported by four slender, tapered mahogany legs capped with brass ferrules, the tables embody the light, elegant profile characteristic of mid-20th-century Scandinavian furniture. The materials and construction reflect Tibro Möbelfabrik’s reputation for producing high-quality Swedish furniture.
The tables are in condition consistent with their age, displaying minor wear that enhances their authenticity and vintage character. Each table measures 37 cm in diameter and 54.5 cm in height (approximately 14.6 by 21.5 inches).
