Information

Rare ceiling lamp model 61-103 designed by Finnish designer Lisa Johansson-Pape and produced by Stockmann-Orno in Finland during the 1950s.

This ceiling lamp is composed of a conical green-lacquered metal shade with a circular cut pattern along its edge. The light is softly filtered through an opal plastic diffuser mounted beneath the shade, producing both direct downward illumination and a fine radiating glow through the perforations. The combination of metal, glass, and plastic elements reflects Johansson-Pape’s characteristic focus on light diffusion and visual balance, while the brass suspension rod and ceiling cup add a refined material contrast.

Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907–1989) was one of Finland’s leading lighting designers, active for several decades and closely associated with the manufacturer Stockmann-Orno. Her work was guided by functional clarity and an architectural understanding of light, emphasizing comfort and atmosphere rather than ornamentation. Through her collaboration with Orno, she helped define Finnish lighting design in the postwar years, creating lamps that blended practicality with elegance.

This example remains in good condition with small signs of age and use. The lacquered surface shows minor wear consistent with time, and the brass elements have developed a warm patina. The lamp measures 60 cm in diameter (23.6 inches) and 151 cm in height (59.4 inches).
