Information

This rare flush mount ceiling lamp, model 71-005, was designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and produced by Stockmann-Orno in Finland. The lamp consists of a circular glass shade with a slightly domed profile, decorated with fine gold lines radiating in a geometric pattern from the center. The glass is mounted with a central brass fitting, which secures it to the ceiling while adding a warm metallic accent.

The lamp’s glass surface is translucent, allowing for an even and diffused distribution of light. The fine gold decoration enhances its decorative effect, creating subtle reflections both when the lamp is lit and when it is off. The shade’s shallow dome form ensures that it sits close to the ceiling, making it suitable for spaces requiring elegant yet unobtrusive lighting.

Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907–1989) was one of Finland’s most influential lighting designers of the 20th century. After training in interior and furniture design, she became closely associated with Stockmann-Orno, where she developed a wide range of innovative lighting solutions for both domestic and public interiors. Her work emphasized practicality, but she consistently combined functionality with refined aesthetics. Johansson-Pape’s lamps are noted for their ability to create atmospheric lighting, often using glass and metal in modern yet timeless forms.

Produced by Stockmann-Orno, one of Finland’s leading lighting manufacturers, this model reflects the company’s postwar dedication to modern design and technical quality. The lamp exemplifies Scandinavian modernism in its restrained form, high-quality materials, and emphasis on light diffusion.

The lamp is in excellent condition, with only very light signs of age to the brass fitting and glass surface. The gold decoration remains well preserved, maintaining the elegance of the design.
