Niels O. Møller dining chairs

This rare set of sixteen dining chairs, model 78, was designed by Niels O. Møller in 1962 and produced by J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik in Denmark. The design is one of Møller’s most refined and enduring creations, representing the peak of Danish Modern craftsmanship and organic minimalism. Known for his dedication to detail and uncompromising quality, Møller produced furniture that exemplifies the unity of structure, comfort, and material beauty.

Each chair is crafted from solid rosewood, exhibiting rich and varied grain patterns with deep brown and reddish tones characteristic of the species. The frame is sculpturally composed with softly tapered legs and a seamless, flowing connection between the backrest and seat frame. The ladder-style backrest with three horizontal rails provides both ergonomic support and visual lightness. The seats retain their original black leather upholstery, now beautifully patinated and supple, complementing the warmth of the rosewood.
