Olle Olsson jar

Jar in pewter designed by Olle Olsson and produced by Tennsmeden i Östersund, Sweden, in 1974. This object reflects the restrained modernist aesthetics typical of Swedish metalwork from the mid-20th century, combining practical form with precise craftsmanship.

The jar is cylindrical in shape with a flat, circular lid fitted with a vertical handle. The brushed pewter surface shows fine concentric tooling marks, giving a tactile texture and subtle matte reflection. The simple geometry emphasizes material quality and proportion rather than ornamentation, consistent with Scandinavian functionalist design principles of the period.
