Stig Blomberg sculptures
Rare set of four bronze reliefs designed by Stig Blomberg and produced by ASEA in Sweden during the 1930s. Executed in cast bronze, each relief depicts a stylized male or female figure in classical contrapposto, rendered with smooth surfaces and simplified anatomical forms characteristic of the Swedish Grace movement.
The figures are adorned with subtle decorative elements such as floral motifs, architectural columns, and symbolic objects like spheres and butterflies, emphasizing themes of harmony and human idealism typical of 1930s Nordic art and design. The sculptural treatment combines the influence of early modernism with a neoclassical sense of proportion and rhythm, reflecting Blomberg’s mastery in blending industrial craftsmanship with fine art.
The surfaces display a warm, even patina developed over time, accentuating the sculptural depth and contours. Originally created for architectural or decorative use, these reliefs exemplify the refined aesthetic of Swedish bronze work from this era.
Good vintage condition with patina and minor wear consistent with age.
