Ceiling lamp, produced in Sweden by AB Luco Armaturfabrik, is a distinguished example of Swedish Modern lighting design from the mid-20th century. It exhibits a synthesis of refined geometric form and high craftsmanship, characteristic of post-functionalism in Scandinavian interiors. The lamp features three large opaline glass shades and a solid brass framework with decorative detailing, combining elegance with technical clarity.

The design comprises a central brass hub with three symmetrically arranged light arms, each terminating in an organically shaped opaline glass shade. These shades are drop-shaped with broad rounded fronts and softly tapering necks. The opaline surface is slightly warm in tone, providing diffuse and ambient illumination when lit. The shades are secured by custom brass holders, each engraved with symmetrical crosshatched motifs and contouring that accentuates the overall sculptural balance.

The brass structure is warm-toned and exhibits a deep natural patina consistent with age, retaining its original finish. The connection between rod and hub is mechanically precise, and the suspension rod leads to a domed ceiling canopy also in brass. The metalwork displays subtle hand-finished surface textures and minor age-related wear, including light patination and small surface marks, all of which are in keeping with the piece’s period and provenance.

AB Luco Armaturfabrik was a Swedish lighting manufacturer active during the early to mid-20th century, known for precision engineering and quality materials. The company was notable for its contributions to public and private interior lighting during the transition from pre-war neoclassical influences to modernist clarity in Swedish design.
