Table lamp
This table lamp, produced in Sweden during the 1960s, is constructed from a refined combination of rosewood, black leather, and a pleated fabric shade. The vertical structure consists of a slim, cylindrical stem in solid rosewood, rising from a flat cylindrical base that is wrapped in black leather. The top finial and shade mount are also finished in leather, contributing to a cohesive visual rhythm between the upper and lower sections of the lamp.
The lampshade is original and crafted from a lightly beige fabric. It is conically shaped with a broad lower diameter and tapers gently toward the top, providing soft, diffused illumination. When lit, the fabric produces a warm, ambient glow, while the vertical pleats add texture and definition to the light pattern.
The rosewood presents a deep reddish-brown tone with a tight, straight grain pattern, typical of the high-quality rosewood used in Scandinavian furniture and lighting objects of the period. The leather is smooth, matte, and cleanly fitted, showing no signs of wear, confirming the lamp’s excellent overall condition.
This piece measures 64 cm in height and 38.5 cm in diameter at the widest point of the shade, equivalent to approximately 25.2 inches tall and 15.2 inches in diameter. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting minimal wear.
