Table lamp

This rare table lamp was produced by Falkenbergs Belysning in Sweden during the 1960s. The lamp combines brass and leather, illustrating the refined craftsmanship and material sensibility typical of Scandinavian mid-century lighting design. The composition features a circular brass base with a slightly raised edge and integrated switch, supporting a cylindrical stem wrapped in dark brown leather. The stem connects to a curved brass arm that holds a wide, slightly concave brass shade with a matte white underside for optimal light reflection.

The lamp’s proportions and materials express a balance between industrial precision and handcrafted detail. The brass components have aged to a warm tone, displaying an even patina that complements the soft texture of the leather. The combination of these materials gives the piece both visual and tactile richness while maintaining the understated elegance characteristic of Swedish lighting from this period.

Falkenbergs Belysning, founded in Falkenberg, Sweden, became known during the mid-20th century for producing high-quality lighting distinguished by its use of fine metals, clean forms, and practical design solutions. The label and markings on the underside confirm the manufacturer’s authenticity, with the stamped model number 6422 and impressed initials “FLB”.

The lamp remains in good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. Its surfaces retain their original finish, showing small signs of handling that contribute to its period character.
