Information

This set of three brass candlesticks was designed by Thelma Zoéga and produced in Sweden during the 1970s. Zoéga’s work reflects the Scandinavian modernist sensibility of the period, characterized by clean geometry, precision, and a focus on material presence. The design emphasizes proportion and repetition, with cylindrical forms arranged in a balanced, architectural composition.

Each candlestick consists of two polished brass cylinders joined by a narrow connecting stem, creating a floating effect between the upper and lower sections. The varying heights allow the group to be arranged in multiple configurations, generating rhythm and visual contrast through light reflection on the polished surfaces. The solid brass construction gives the set a substantial weight and a tactile sense of quality, while the warm tone of the metal contributes to its sculptural presence.

The pieces are in excellent vintage condition, with minor surface wear and natural patina consistent with age and use. The brass has developed a soft sheen that enhances the visual depth of the material.

Dimensions: 4 cm in diameter and 10 to 18 cm in height (1.6 x 3.9 to 7.1 in).
