Floor lamp
This floor lamp, produced in Italy during the 1960s, features a minimalist and functionalist design typical of the post-war modernist period. It is constructed in chromed steel with a distinct dual-arm configuration and is anchored by a solid, rectangular stone base. The two arms rise vertically from the base and bend at the top to form angular extensions terminating in two hemispherical shades, each mounted with flexibility for directional lighting.
The chromed steel elements present a clean, reflective finish that highlights the lamp’s mechanical structure, while the natural stone base introduces visual weight and material contrast. The base’s geometric mass grounds the otherwise slender vertical elements, offering both structural stability and aesthetic balance. The hemispherical shades, also in chromed steel, are open beneath and designed to house standard bulbs, casting a downward and diffused illumination.
The piece is in good vintage condition, with minor surface marks consistent with age and use. The chrome retains its luster, and the stone base is intact without structural damage. All mechanical joints and pivot points operate smoothly, allowing full range of motion for the lamp arms.
The total height of the lamp is 170 cm, equivalent to approximately 66.9 inches. The maximum width when the arms are fully extended is 136 cm, or about 53.5 inches. The depth of the base measures 20 cm, corresponding to 7.9 inches.
