This mid-century Scandinavian coffee table, likely produced in Sweden during the 1960s, features a chromed steel base supporting a clear glass top. The glass surface is shaped as an elongated oval with a flat polished edge and rests directly on the frame without visible fasteners, lending the table a sense of visual lightness and transparency that highlights the geometric construction below.

The base is constructed from square-profile chromed steel arranged in a symmetrical X-shaped configuration. Four vertical supports rise from the floor and connect at the center via two horizontal bars forming a cruciform structure. This design provides both stability and visual interest, created by the interplay of angles and the reflective qualities of the chrome. The metal surface has a soft sheen and displays minor age-related wear, including subtle oxidation and patination typical of the material and period.
