Dining chairs
This rare set of four dining chairs, model “Ferrante” was produced by A. Bulleri & Co. Cascina in Italy in 1949. The chairs are constructed with a slender, sculptural wooden frame finished in red lacquer, contrasted by a woven cane seat. The backrest is composed of elegantly curved horizontal slats, creating an open and airy silhouette, while the tapered legs and delicate stretchers add to the refined aesthetic.
A. Bulleri & Co. Cascina was an Italian furniture manufacturer known for its craftsmanship and attention to detail. While the designer of this particular model remains unknown, the design reflects the post-war Italian approach to furniture, emphasizing lightness, fluidity, and an interplay between traditional materials and modernist forms. The use of lacquered wood and cane weaving was a signature of Italian furniture design from this period, blending artisanal techniques with contemporary styling. The chairs are in good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age.
The dimensions are 40 cm in width, 44 cm in depth, and 96 cm in height (15.7 x 17.3 x 37.8 inches), with a seat height of 43 cm (16.9 inches).
