Hans-Agne Jakobsson table lamp

This is a rare and sculpturally refined table lamp, model B-54, designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by his lighting company in Markaryd, Sweden, during the 1950s. The lamp exhibits a highly architectural form, constructed from a combination of teak, brass, and white lacquered metal—materials frequently employed by Jakobsson to contrast warmth and precision.

The design features a sharply angled teak arm that supports a conical white metal shade. The form of the shade emphasizes Jakobsson’s focus on directed task lighting, with a clean geometry that references functionalist ideals while maintaining a strong sculptural character.
