Olle Andersson wall lamps
A set of wall lamps model No Neon designed by Olle Andersson and produced by Boréns in Sweden during the 1980s. The design reflects a distinctly postmodern approach, combining geometric clarity with layered visual elements and a strong interplay between material and light.
Each fixture is composed of a rectilinear wall-mounted body in lacquered metal, finished in cream white, from which a series of three semi-circular golden screens extend outward in a stepped arrangement. The elements form a tiered, arch-like composition, with each layer slightly offset to create depth and rhythm. The surfaces show natural patina and variation, contributing to the character of the lamps and emphasizing their material authenticity.
The light source is concealed within the central structure, directing illumination both upward and outward. When lit, the golden screens act as reflectors, producing a warm, indirect glow that spreads across the wall in a soft gradient. This creates a halo-like effect behind the fixture, while the white lacquered body remains more subdued, reinforcing the contrast between structure and reflected light.
Each lamp measures 42 cm in height, 14.5 cm in depth, and 45 cm in width, corresponding to approximately 16.5 inches in height, 5.7 inches in depth, and 17.7 inches in width. The condition is good vintage, with visible signs of use including surface wear, patina, and some overall color loss to the lacquered finish, consistent with age and handling.
